Wright Medical is currently hiring a Sales Director responsible for leading the sales strategy and sales activities for the Distributor Principals, District Managers, Regional Managers, and Sales Representatives for a region by executing the strategy and driving business planning and development activities that lead to the attainment of the regional sales objectives.

Your Focus:

  • Leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic sales initiatives and directs tactical plans to achieve business objectives for markets through leadership and effective team management in order to grow sales
  • Drive sales planning and execution initiatives to include reliable forecasting and quota achievement, identification of key success and opportunities, market trends, competitor activity, key accounts, and mitigation plans; involve/educate Distributor Principal in forecasting process to ensure ownership and continuously deliver on results
  • Set expectations and accountability around account planning, surgeon profiles, field rides, job shadowing, etc. across assigned area to ensure consistent, effective, and proactive practices for reps and leaders within the region
  • Holds their leadership team accountable for identifying, deploying, managing, and developing the skills and effectiveness of their sales force. Measures`, monitors and trends performance and intervenes to ensure successful achievem+C56ent of business results including quota achievement, expense budget, and asset management
  • Develops positive and professional relationships by actively engaging with Physicians, key customers and accounts
  • Serves on cross functional organizational teams to increase efficiency and improve processes across the organization
  • Conducts Human Resources functions including recruitment, selection and onboarding; performance assessment and management; retention; workforce planning; coaching, mentoring and developing the sales force

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
  • 10+ years B2B sales experience
  • 5+ years sales management experience; Medical device sales management experience
  • Ability to work in an operating room environment; Willingness to travel a high percentage of time.
  • Must have intimate knowledge of the sales cycle and an ability to articulate and apply to all product areas
  • Strong interpersonal skills required in the areas of verbal and written communication, customer focus, professionalism, coaching and team building
  • Strong listening, assessment and analytical skills
  • Strong questioning and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated in-depth sales and marketing techniques and financial principles
  • Proficient with MS Office products, specifically Excel; proficient in sales reporting
  • Has a strategic mindset and an external focus; considers industry, market, customer, and competitor information when developing territory plans
  • Thinks like a business person and uses key financial information to measure and analyze the function’s performance and contribution, and to make decisions, trade-offs, and choices that support the business strategy.
