JOB DESCRIPTION: The VP of Sales will create and direct sales strategy, goals, objectives, and operating
procedures for retail and foodservice. Overseeing regional sales managers and broker networks, this
role will analyze and evaluate the Company product portfolio, profit margins, promotional mix and
effectiveness of the salesforce’s go-to-market strategy and makes adjustments to ensure alignment and ultimate success across the two departments; in other words, create execute, manage and “own” the revenue of the Company. This role reports to President.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
P&L Management
- Lead sales strategy, and oversee the development and execution of sales and P&L.
- Create the annual sales plan by product line and trade channel including products, pricing,
packaging, and distribution.
- Contribute to the Company’s goals and objectives and improve market share, customer
satisfaction and productivity performance.
- Leverage multiple platforms and analytical tools to identify and address critical issues including
those related to spending efficiency, margin analysis, consumer targeting, marketing mix
analysis, pricing strategy and product portfolio analysis.
- Lead integration of financial activities, including planning, forecasting, and business analysis to
drive category planning and strategies.
- Responsible for management and monitoring of trade spend.
Sales & Marketing Strategy
- Work closely with the President and CEO to analyze, envision, and develop concepts for leading
and driving growth in a new and emerging category that seeks to replace dairy products,
defining and refining potential channels, store placement, and ways to reach new end users.
- Help articulate the brand to new areas of opportunity.
- Work closely with agencies to drive sales strategy and channel specific initiatives.
- Coordinate sales efforts with sales team, President, CEO, COO, VP of Marketing and brokers to
insure implementation of overall strategy and sales marketing programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic industry and cross functional partners.
- Evaluate, prioritize and lead decision-making regarding new products and marketing
opportunities based on financial viability and brand fit.
Category & Channel Management
- Establish channel strategies and implement the associated plans.
- Identify and deliver on new and incremental selling channels by studying and understanding
each specific market structure and channel base.
- Identify growth opportunities in designated category per location/per channel and work closely
with Sales and Marketing Teams to identify new channels of selling for designated category.
- Planning and execution of sales activity on all the brands including broker management,
wholesaler oversight and retail account involvement.
- Work with marketing team in development of the Trade Marketing Strategy to achieve defined
business objectives across all product categories.
Team Leadership
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results and oversee sales
team development and functions to execute strategy.
- Develop, monitor and improve processes to link all Marketing activities with the activities of the
Sales team. Work closely with the President and CEO to improve processes that link corporate
brand building activities and Product Development activities with Sales activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS required with an emphasis in Marketing, Sales, or Business preferred.
- 10 years brand and/or sales experience in the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Long-term previous experience with other CPG company in Natural
- Experience in fast-paced growth companies or early stage companies
- Experience growing a company from $30M to $75M or more
- Successful performance requires skills in leadership, analytical and creative problem solving,
verbal/written communications, influence management and negotiation, work planning and
organization, team collaboration, conflict resolution and the ability to motivate and gain
cooperation from others.
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and the simultaneous
management of several projects is required.
- Experience managing multiple brands simultaneously is a big plus.
- Must have previous experience developing channel specific initiatives within mass, club,
specialty, natural, health/wellness/fitness, non-traditional, export.
