VP of Information Technology
The Vice President of Information Systems (IS) will provide technology vision, leadership, and day-to-day management in the design, development, implementation, and operations the company information technology systems. You will be responsible for all areas of information technology, security, organization, compliance, infrastructure, operations, digital, desktop services, enterprise applications, analytics, virtualization, and integration services. Additional responsibilities include: the delivery of enterprise initiatives while ensuring quality, reliability, performance, scalability, security, and maturity, by employing industry best practices.
This is a strategic role that requires a strong partnership with other Company departments, and the ability to work seamlessly with the executive team. To help influence direction, you will build a strong, long-term technology strategy that aligns with the Company’s overall business strategy. You are an excellent leader/manager who possesses a complementary balance of business and technology knowledge, with an emphasis on realizing business value, delivery of quality solutions, ensuring system integrity and stability.
What the VP of Information Technologies will do:
- Leadership: Lead a global team of experienced technology, systems engineering, information, networking and cybersecurity professionals.
- Vision: Set the vision and strategy for information technology and cybersecurity operations. Enable an environment of continuous improvement to meet market changes and customer demands.
- Design: Design experience with large scale networks spanning multiple countries. Develop business-relevant metrics to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of information systems.
- Problem Solving: Identify and define network and system problems; examine relevant information to find solutions that are consistent with the Company’s operating procedures and policies.
- Communication: – Respond to requests from directors of IT and Cybersecurity in a timely manner. Apply effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication methods to achieve desired results among Company employees and partners. Possesses the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Project Management: Identify and plan critical tasks; determine roles and responsibilities of team members; monitor project progress; and update the executive team.
- Technology Literacy: Knowledge of the Company’s existing technology infrastructure and understanding of the compatibility issues with the existing technology. Appropriately apply existing, new, or emerging technology, as needed.
- Compliance Literacy: Demonstrate knowledge of compliance requirements (SOX/PCI) and deploy solutions that support the Company’s compliance standards.
- Implementation: Design and manage the installation of new technology/applications on the Company’s networks and operating systems. Administer routers, switches, firewalls, sandbox, network analyzer, token authentication, security updates and patches. Ability to install, configure and setup VLANs, WANs and firewalls.
- Technology Evaluation: Amend, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security program to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of confidential company information/data.
- Negotiating/Contracting: Organize, prepare, monitor, and evaluate work performed by vendors and consultants. Ability to write request for proposals, analyze and assess vendor proposals, and monitor compliance to contract specifications.
What the VP of Information Systems will need to have:
- Master’s degree in information systems or a related discipline is required. PhD preferred
- The following IT management certifications are desirable: PMP, CISSP, ITIL, CGEIT
- 5+ years of information security experience, with a provable track record of ensuring compliance and protection
- 5+ years in an executive level data strategy-related role.
- 5+ years of management experience, leading and managing teams
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Systems Engineer.
- Proven track record and experience in developing and executing IT operating models, data strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet or exceed expectations in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work in a fast-changing and sometimes ambiguous environment, identifying key priorities and driving new solutions
- Act as a self-starter identifying and implementing optimal opportunities to advance the Company’s data and cybersecurity needs
- Experience working with players across the data ecosystem and supporting cross-sector data initiatives
