Sr Director of IT Infrastructure and Security

The Sr. Director of Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for the selection, implementation and operation of all technology infrastructure deployed at Shake including data center, cloud infrastructure, local / wide area network and server services, telephony, collaboration, service monitoring, user support/help desk, workstation management, servers, storage and related software. This position is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, security and scalability of IT infrastructure across Shake Shack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads technology infrastructure and operations strategy and execution for the enterprise. Develops infrastructure standards and IT operations processes to ensure the security, availability, stability and scalability of enterprise solutions
  • Planning, project management and implementation leadership for the operations and infrastructure area. Identifies opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement for Shake Shack end users
  • Manages the business case, selection and ongoing management of 3rd party providers for outsourced infrastructure services. Includes cloud services, server operations, networks, and desktop configuration. Also responsible for implementation, standardization and ongoing management of 3rd party providers delivering infrastructure services to agreed SLAs.
  • Problem-solving leadership and participation for complex infrastructure implementation, system upgrades and operational troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain an overall organizational model and resource plan to ensure effective and consistent delivery of infrastructure services and management of 3rd party service providers.
  • Management of the Helpdesk Support team to deliver superior customer service to Shake Shack personnel. Defines consistent service models and ensure effective coverage for Shacks and Home office.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft technologies e.g. Active Directory
  • Solid understanding implementing and managing Cloud infrastructure solutions (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Thorough familiarity with public company IT audit requirements (SOX)

Experience

  • Experience developing teams and managing the IT Operations and Infrastructure function (networks, servers, telecom, desktop, helpdesk / support) in a $1Bn+ enterprise
  • 8-10 years of relevant Information Technology experience
  • 4-6 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience managing 3rd party operations and infrastructure technology providers
  • Experience managing IT operations and infrastructure in a multi-unit retail environment (restaurants preferred)
