The Senior Vice President of Communications is responsible for providing direction and implementation of activities designed to enhance external and internal communications and brand awareness of the organization.

Responsible for ensuring brand awareness and reputation are improved while working within budget and the parameters of long-range goals. The position requires superior communication and technical skills as well as the ability to direct and design programs and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively engages with executive leadership to grow the PruittHealth brand creating and enhancing the relationships with targeted high-level external audiences including the media and key influencers, while maintaining the reputation and quality of the organization.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the communications function including budgeting, planning and staff development
  • Lead and manage crisis communication strategy and execution, and serve as the primary organization spokesperson during crises, and in other situations as required
  • Research, develop and implement a brand enhancement and communications strategy, including standards and practices company-wide that elicit the behavior, emotion and recognition objectives of PruittHealth with primacy on patient volume, partner recruitment, and partner retention.
  • Development of key messages for all audiences to communicate our essential brand identity
  • Work with appropriate partners within the company to identify and implement strategies to improve the overall functionality of the website, stand apart from competitors in the industry, and ensure search engine optimization.
  • Improve social media campaigns and create metrics that improve traffic to these sites along with the PruittHealth website.
  • Oversee the writing and scheduling of social media posts, press releases, copy for marketing materials, reports, advertisements, and other related material
  • Lead agencies and internal team members to execute all communication activities and public relations (marketing materials, advertising, client communications, direct mail, marketing campaigns, press releases, content for trade publications, etc.).
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of educational, marketing, and training videos throughout the organization. This includes managing the day to day functions of the corporate videographer
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure proper messaging of company beliefs and service offerings. This will include becoming active in local and national association to increase awareness of PruittHealth and the brand
  • Oversee the travel and conference scheduling functions within the PruittHealth corporate office
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Manage the bi-annual PruittHealth corporate conference committees and ensure smooth operation of these meetings in the spring and fall.
  • Own the PruittHealth branding and exposure at major industry conferences including the American Healthcare Association and state associations in Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas
  • Manage the corporate culture committee and organize monthly morale-boosting parties, publicize kudo card and employee of the month winners, etc.
  • Assist the CEO as needed with presentations at internal and external events.
Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, public relations or marketing (graduate degree preferred)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 7 years’ service in a marketing, branding and communication leadership role.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

  • Must be an energetic, assertive and driven professional with a passion for leading corporate culture and developing effective teams.
  • Thorough understanding of branding principles and tactics through traditional and modern means
  • Proven ability to design, develop and implement both strategic programs and supporting tactics
  • Experience and proven effectiveness in managing crisis communications and sensitive issues
  • Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with senior management
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectations
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent management and supervisory experience with proven ability to achieve big-team results with a staff of five (director of corporate communications; communications assistant; graphic designer; videographer & photographer; travel & conference coordinator).
