Project Manager, HR

Santa Clarita, CA

The Holland America Group is currently searching for a highly motivated Project Manager, HR who will be a member of the HR Operations Team within the Human Resources organization and is responsible for the overall management of major projects initiated by HR such as systems implementations, annual merit increases, automation projects, requests for proposals and more.

Responsibilities

  • Project Charters – Crafting the project charter and obtaining executive sponsorship and support of projects
  • Planning – Planning all the essential elements of a project to assure completeness
  • Communications – Working with the internal communications team to craft appropriate and timely internal and external communications to announce the project, changes to current processes and assure all persons necessary are notified
  • Training – Schedule training webinars, in person training and information calls as part of change management and execution of the project

  • Data Quality & Maintenance:
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Information Technology, or relevant work experience with Data Governance and Integrity projects
  • 1-3 years of experience with data management
  • 1 year experience with SQL
  • Detailed-oriented person
  • Experience developing business process flows, data standards and definitions
  • Strong Communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to implement policies and procedures to ensure data is both acceptable and accurate in a complex and matrix environment
  • Must be able to challenge the status-quo through identification of key business requirements and addressing through innovative data management techniques
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, creative thinking and leading change
  • Knowledge of data quality profiling technique and solution is desired
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel
  • Work beyond normal business hours will be required occasionally to support business needs, projects or operational support that may be required outside of normal business hours or on weekends
