Program Management Office Manager
Job Purpose:
The primary duties of this position will be to direct and oversee the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements. The PMO Manager develops & implements best practices to enable the successful delivery of a broad range of IT projects to stakeholders across the business. This will be done by ensuring that all projects adhere to the best practices & standard approaches for project management.
Duties:
- Lead the PMO team for IT projects and programs delivering services and applications to support organizational goals, while maintaining schedules and budgets
- Prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Balance the need to adhere to processes with the need to provide services
- Create and foster team collaboration, relevancy and reliability throughout all departments and the organization to execute successful projects
- Use written and verbal communication to deliver projects to stakeholders, team members, and senior leadership in the organization
- Strive to understand and apply new technologies and processes to increase the maturity level of the IT department and organization
- Provide Portfolio Management for approved and upcoming projects
- Manage and drive IT quarterly project reviews with Presidents and/or CEOs
- Review, negotiate and finalize all IT contracts
- Review and validate training documentation for active projects
- Manage project requests and create business cases to access benefits of request
- Clearly communicate and effectively drive change
- Define and maintain standards for the project management team using PMI guidelines and quality standards to implement projects in a manner that meet stated financial expectations and achieve project objectives
- Implement and manage tools, templates and processes to enable project teams to effectively achieve IT and organizational objectives
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelorâs degree in Business, Information Systems or similar
- 2-3 years of experience leading PMO
- 5 years of Project Management or IT Management
- PMP certification preferred
- ITIL certification preferred
- Successful track record managing SaaS, infrastructure, networking and security projects
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma
