Inside SBSEG, the Time Tracking Segment team is at the heart of small business processes from running payroll, to invoicing customers and understanding project profitability.
As part of the Time Tracking Segment team, you will help us work towards our vision of automated time tracking. You’ll be challenged to think bolder, move faster, and have a big impact.
We’re looking for a creative problem solver with a passion for innovation and good process. Driving strategy and business operations, you will be part of a small, lean team working at the heart of the business to build strong operating rigor and shape our strategic trajectory.
You’ll work across functions and with senior leaders to help identify challenges and opportunities, execute high-priority activities, and be a key contributor to the formulation and execution of our product and business strategy.


Responsibilities

Your work will involve:

  • Identifying and driving the highest-impact opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the teams and functions
  • Identifying, investigating, and rallying the team around opportunities and big bets for our future
  • Partnering with senior leaders to jointly problem solve and develop solutions to complex business problems
  • Leading strategic and operational projects from inception to completion, ensuring execution is set up for success and managed rigorously

You will have frequent executive-level visibility, allowing you to forge relationships with senior leaders from every function. This role is the perfect platform to learn about multiple teams and functions and to work on a wide range of projects and develop a broad skill set, helping to lay the foundation for a high-impact career.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Drive segment strategy: Help size and analyze growth opportunities (e.g. markets, customer segments, industry verticals, strategic initiatives). Articulate actionable recommendations that drive business impact. Proactively identify roadblocks and suggest alternative solutions.
  • Lead through influence: Actively participate in discussions with senior business leaders and teams across segments making convincing arguments that influence decisions. Develop concise and compelling written communications that builds your case and articulates solutions.
  • Problem solving and analytics: Understand business performance through dashboards and data that you help create or gather. Use data to recommend creative and innovative solutions. Frame issues in a compelling way and drive resolution to them, providing focused quantitative or qualitative analysis and research support as input into decision making.
  • Rigorous execution: Lead or co-lead strategic initiatives and discrete projects. Develop clear action plans. Suggest relevant success metrics and targets. Manage timelines and processes.
  • Cross-functional leadership and capability building: Build and maintain strong relationships inside and outside the organization to ensure strong collaboration, raise the profile of the business and its key projects, and capitalize on emerging opportunities. Help foster a culture of continuous reinvention and customer obsession.


Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a proven ability to establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout an organization and is viewed as a team player. Strategy and Biz Ops acts as a source of future leaders and we expect exceptional leadership skills and potential.

Specific qualifications:

  • 4-7 years relevant work experience with 2+ years experience in roles delivering significant impact across an organization (examples: experience in a top-tier consulting firm focused on strategy and implementation, being part of a strategy or business operations team in a technology company, helping improve efficiency or effectiveness in a business function of a technology company).
  • Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills – leads and influences across boundaries and considered a trusted partner to peers and executives alike.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to think both strategically and tactically – can devise and execute an action plan (strong process and project management skills).
  • Highly self-motivated – able to manage multiple projects with little day to day direction and is able to both lead and support.
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving ability.
  • High level of professionalism, passion, and sense of urgency.
  • MBA or similar education a plus.
