Legal and Compliance
Professionals within Legal and Compliance provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm’s invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm’s businesses.
Position Description
The Information Management team focuses on the firm’s ability to effectively retain, retrieve and protect information to meet its obligations and generate value for its customers and shareholders.
As part of a team focused on understanding the quantitative and qualitative fabric of the Firm’s information repositories, you will have the opportunity to analyze large sets of structured and unstructured data to build NLP/ML/MR solutions.
We are looking for a candidate with experience building ontologies and semantic data architecture to join our Information Management team and help promote linked data within the Firm.
As the Head of Ontology and Semantic Data Modeling you will implement ontologies and knowledge graphs to achieve rich data representation, enhanced metadata management and promote linked data at the Firm in partnership with Corporate & Funding Technology, the Data COE and various business teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead ontology creation, ontology management and semantic enrichment efforts
- Create and manage knowledge graphs and semantic databases
- Contribute to data architecture and data management strategy design
- Promote the creation of semantic data models and SPARQL endpoints to link quality data
- Provide guidance, oversight and methodological standards
- Grow the Firm’s Ontology and Semantic Modeling consortium
- Participate in relevant industry and governance groups
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in information science, computer science, library science, computational linguistics, mathematics, philosophy or related discipline
- 10 years of W3C compliant semantic models experience (RDF, OWL and SPARQL)
- 5+ years complex enterprise scale data & metadata architecture experience
- Experience with data governance, data cataloguing and master metadata management
- Experience presenting ontology and semantic data topics to senior management
- Experience with Property Graphs a plus (Cypher, Gremlin)
