We are seeking a Finance Manager to start-up and lead a new fulfillment center “launch” in Indianapolis. The Finance Manager will be primarily responsible for business partnering, strategy and decision support, financial modeling, budget governance and cost optimization for this state-of-the-art customer fulfillment center. They will work on developing consistent, successful partnerships with multiple stakeholders to provide timely analysis, insightful guidance, and overall financial leadership. The Finance Manager’s business partners are comprised of operations, transportation, and finance teams, all working together to identify best practices across the network and developing cost improvement efforts for Amazon Operations locally and network-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the annual operational planning process and development of the three year strategic plan. Drive variance analysis against budgets for the network, identify risks and opportunities
- Ensure timely and accurate metrics and forecasts are created and maintained
- Lead variance analysis for weekly/monthly/quarterly business reviews as well as execute ad-hoc projects.
- Partner across partner organizations to drive continuous improvement in financial and operational performance
- Identify and develop key business opportunities and drive efficiency while balancing customer promise
- Develop and maintain key reporting metrics
- Lead overall analysis and reporting requirements; empower teams to analyze and manage quantitative data, developing meaningful reporting to lead business improvement and cost reductions
- Finance Leader/Manager or equivalent with experience leading a team, along with 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of business impact and results
- 3+ years of experience with advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.)
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Strong ability to work with business leaders to deliver results, including the ability to persuade with data. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- An eye towards continuous process improvement, including the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational processes
- Ability to think at both the strategic and implementation level â to think big while also diving deep
- Success building and maintaining operations partnerships and influencing without authority
- Management experience with demonstrated leadership skills in direct reporting environments
- Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis combined with proven ability to communicate those analysis
- Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions
- Manage and prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, growing and ambiguous environment
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL and other analytical tools
- Previous experience within a Manufacturing, Distribution Center or Logistics processes and systems a plus
- MBA preferred
