Leading Painting & Wallcovering Company Looking for a Estimator.
Duties:
– Prepare on-screen take-offs as per bid procedures using electronic estimating software (Planswift).
– Review & prepare all architectural/structural/applicable drawings to be estimated by gathering drawings, specifications, and related documents.
– Identify labor, material, access and time requirements.
– Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and equipment requirements, including but not limited to project phasing, duration, mobilization.
– Retrieve pricing for specialty materials (wallcovering, specialty finishes).
– Maintain job files in accordance with company standards.
– Follow up on proposals, ensure bids are competitive and close on contracts.
Skills/qualifications:
– Strong written, verbal, math and analytical skills
– Knowledge of commercial paint systems, application techniques, and substrate requirements.
– Experience in the commercial construction industry. Understanding the bid process, award of projects, changes in scope of work, lump sum changes, time and material changes and coordination with project management/field staff to ensure work is completed in accordance with current drawings and specifications.
– Proficient computer skills & strong knowledge of Microsoft applications and estimating software.
– Team player with a positive attitude and self-motivated.
– Able to analyze information, estimate quickly with a precision, report results, strategically plan, attention to detail and communicate clearly
– Time management skills and an ability to prioritize efforts
