Job Description

The Creative Project Manager plays a pivotal role in keeping projects moving internally and externally. They will work onsite at the client’s location and take in project requests from the client and their vendors. They will build project schedules, forecast hours for projects, coordinate with different teams to ensure that projects start and finish on time, that all stakeholders have reviewed and approved in a timely manner, and enforce process during projects. They will help create efficiency by forecasting, monitoring utilization, identifying opportunities to move projects to lower cost resources, as well as manage the client expectations. The Creative Project Manager will be the face of Merkle and work closely with the client, vendor’s of the client, and Merkle’s creative team to execute and deliver projects on time and on budget. They will use Workfront to input all project request and run daily status calls with the Creative Team. This role will be a key player in managing the success of the deliverables and building a great relationship with the client.

  • Monitor status of all projects with Creative team

    • Input all request in Workfront
    • Update status in Workfront
    • Attend all status meetings
  • Traffic management

    • Send projects to Editorial in Workfront
    • Follow up on internal routes and communicate and monitor timelines for review
    • Run Creative status meeting
    • Maintain creative’s daily status document
  • Work with internal and external teams to develop and maintain all project schedules

    • Keep projects on schedule
    • Keep schedules up-to-date
    • Communicate schedule updates across all internal and external teams
    • Maintain documentation of internal and external timing on project schedule milestones for future reference
  • Enforce process

    • Upload all items related to a project to Workfront
    • Gather and confirm all projects have a brief, schedule, and any required artwork graphics
    • Send creative to editorial and digital creative to producers for review
  • Forecast out 2 weeks for each creative on the team

    • Note when people are free, or nothing covered
    • Note when projects could go to Studio
    • Pull weekly utilization reports for team
  • Manages client approvals

    • Review creative before routing to the client for approval
    • Understand client’s brand and style guide to give input on projects
    • Route creative to client
    • Consolidate client feedback for Creative team
    • Track and update schedules based on approval turnaround
    • Work with client to streamline approval process
    • Work with client’s compliance team to understand feedback and markup for Creative team.
  • Create weekly and monthly reports

    • Analyze weekly and monthly hours report and flag concerns

  • Free creatives up from account and project management duties, allowing them to spend more time in Photoshop and less in Outlook or Excel.

Qualifications

Required

  • Project management skills

    • Highly organized

  • 3+ years of experience managing projects
  • Understanding of digital media process
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members across departments
  • Understanding of how to use Google Drive and Documents
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communicator
  • Positive attitude

Preferred

  • Agency or marketing experience
  • College degree
  • Workfront experience

Candidate must be available to be on-site up to 5 days a week in Wellesley, MA or Woonsocket RI.
