The Assistant Vice Chancellor/Vice President for Access, Equity and Diversity oversees the implementation of strategic initiatives regarding Title IX, equal opportunity, accessibility, equity, affirmative action and diversity for the University of Houston and the University of Houston System. Ensures university compliance with federal and state laws and university system regulations.

Creates a conscientious and welcoming campus community by developing, offering, and supporting campus policies, programs, services, and activities that educate the University community on the principles of equal opportunity and diversity.

Cultivate a climate of awareness, understanding and respect for all individuals and groups.

Develop and oversee System policies, processes, and procedures for Title IX, equal opportunity,accessibility, and affirmative action compliance.

Develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of system equal opportunity, accessibility, equity, and diversity initiatives.

Informs and counsels campus leadership on governmental requirements and compliance regarding AA/EEO and other anti – discrimination and harassment issues.

Oversees informal and formal stages of internal complaint investigations based on race, sex, age, color, religion,national origin, disability and veteran status. Monitors resolution and compliance.

Coordinates all grievance procedures under Title IX, as well as other discrimination complaints, including sexual harassment and sexual assault. Ensures dissemination of all relevant policies and procedures.

Serves as the university’s coordinator for Title IX, ADA, Section 504, Title VI, and the Texas Educational Opportunity Plan. Also serves as the Equal Employment and Education Opportunity Compliance Officer.

Develops, analyzes and monitors faculty and staff recruitment and placement to ensure non-discrimination and affirmative action. Serves as a resource to faculty and administrative staff search committees.

Ensures appropriate communication of resources and training programs for all university administrators, faculty,staff and students on university policies and procedures related to AA/EEO. Reviews university policies, procedures and practices with regard to AA/EEO, non-discrimination and sexual harassment. Recommends necessary changes and revisions.

Oversees periodic internal audits of university system practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local legislation. Ensures collection, monitoring, analysis and validity of statistical data required by federal and state agencies, and UH System and UH main campus.

Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications
Master’s Degree and 7 years experience.
Education: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master’s degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
Salary: Salary will commensurate with experience
