    VICE PRESIDENT – OPERATIONS – JOB DESCRIPTION

    REPORTS TO: CEO DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Medium sized North Jersey company is looking to hire an experienced – individual as Vice President of Operations – to plan, organize, direct and control all operating activities including purchasing, planning, inventory, co-packers, co-manufacturers, and product costing.

    • Responsible for the performance of all production activities and all support functions including quality.
    • Responsible for inventory, raw and finished goods to meet order schedules – ensuring required service level goals are achieved and for profitability and inventory turns.
    • Responsible for all activities of company’s overseas production facility.
    • Responsible for interfacing thru regular meetings with Sales and Sourcing team to review MRP, new orders, existing orders and inventory levels.
    • Manages company pricing with the CEO.
    • Manages the purchasing group, logistics and inventory team.
    • Conduct capacity requirement planning to ensure proper utilization of systems, people, equipment & space.
    • Manage overseas logistics.
    • Ensure that all physical aspects of the co-packers & co-manufacturers facilities are maintained in an efficient, environmentally friendly and safe manner.
    • Coordinate the creation of all systems and processes to ensure all are documented and being followed – specifically the planning and order processes.
    • Assists the new product development process in the execution of all new & modified products.
    • Implement a continuous improvement plan and culture to ensure the company has the capability to meet growth opportunities as well as all business requirements and objectives competitively – especially focused on PPR (purchase price reduction).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for all company facilities, co-packers, vendors, co-manufacturers & third-party warehouses. * Responsible for company overseas plant.
    • Manage all CF inventory. * All purchasing functions.
    • 3PL finished goods inventory
    • Co-packer & co-manufacturer raw materials & finished goods
    • Minimize & eliminate SLOB inventory
    • Coordinate all CF orders. * Oversee & coordinate regular meetings with Sales & Sourcing Managers to review prospective orders, new products, existing orders and order production and delivery dates.
    • Review MRP forecasts to actual sales and adjust production & orders accordingly.
    • Formalize the CF private label bid and pricing processes and manage.
    • Manage all CF’s logistics and sourcing. * Responsible for all overseas logistics
    • Develop and implement sourcing program – into a formal process and manage
    • Manage all CF’s production resources: * Meet order timeline
    • Ensure proper materials are on hand for production
    • Maintain formal production schedule
    • Maintain control of planned outputs, budgets spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency and human utilization.
    • Review performance against operating plans and quotations – create standard costs
    • Presents monthly reports on performance as requested by the CEO
    • Along with the CEO reviews and approves all major Operations projects – including capital expenditures, co-packers’ changes, co-manufacturers changes, raw material substitutions.
    • Interfaces with all segments of management responsible for plans, policy or action. Ensures completion and or compliance whatever is required.
    • Assumes other activities and projects from time to time as directed by the CEO.
    • Ensures all responsibility, authority & accountability of direct subordinates are defined & understood.

    Required skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field
    • SAP – Oracle experience a plus
    • 5+ years of operations management experience
    • Strong knowledge of supply chain management required
