    LOCATION: Covering Washington DC District, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey (South) territories.

    Job Summary:

    The VP of Sales will build and maintain supportive business relationships with current sales managers and representatives to ensure high quality customer satisfaction, retention, and growth of market share in the territory. This position will set the sales vision and strategy for the company; direct our sales management team to drive account growth within our designated service areas, and lead sales representatives to meet or exceed sales goals. This position will analyzes data and provides support and assistance in training personnel as well as work with Marketing Director to build up new business, to prepare proposals and quotations and to win contracts.

    The Vice President of Sales shall be accountable to, and supervised by, the President/COO.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Develop sales managers & representatives in their assigned territories.
    • Evaluate and Identify new opportunities. Coordinate with sales team to maximize the opportunities.
    • Promote and enhance product sales and ensure maximum profitability in sales territory.
    • Develop annual plan and strategy for the sales team and their territory.
    • Meet annual sales goals and targets.
    • Fully leverages Territory Planning data for all territory changes.
    • Test very new product releases to support product development team.
    • Ensure effective internal communication within the Sales, Marketing team and Customer Support and across the company.
    • Assist in identifying the opportunities for upcoming products, and for development and enhancement of existing products.
    • Negotiate the agreement terms and closing down sales.
    • Monitor and report the potential collaborators and competitor activities and identifying business threats and opportunities.
    • Directly manage the performance and duties of the sales coordinator.
    • Oversee the communication and execution of company policies within the confines of the sales department.
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Demonstrates a high degree of skills in the area of selling, marketing principles, prospecting, networking, coaching and negotiations.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Able to build and deliver presentations.
    • Good computer application skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Willingness to travel most of the times.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • BA or BS in marketing or related disciplines and/or five years of job related experience. Preferably in a Food Distribution environment.
    • Must be skilled in sales techniques.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
    • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License
    • Must maintain Criminal History free of Misdemeanors and Felonies
    • Speak Italian is a plus

    Physical Requirements:

    • Position will require: frequent walking, seating, standing, lifting and bending.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
