Parts Manager responsibilities:
- Maintain stock of the aviation parts kept in inventory and special ordered parts,
- Ensure the parts are stored properly and easy to locate,
- Coordinate with the manufacturing departments and vendors to place orders for the aviation parts needed
- Be in contact with vendors warehouse supervisors,
- Report to the senior management of the company and update on the latest production, stock and sales reports,
- Send important figures to the accounts departments for maintaining the books,
- Work closely with aviation mechanics and inspectors and work towards making the aviation parts even more efficient.
- Track all aviation parts from beginning process of inspection by mechanics thru to final completion of job.
Tech Skills
Aviation parts manager will need to know about the manufacturing process of the parts. Inventory and accounts are maintained on software; hence, the manager need to have good technical skills and computer skills
Job Conditions
The aviation parts manager will be moving around constantly. They may even have to shuttle in between their office, the inventory storage room, and the hangar floors. Therefore, physical fitness is required by parts manager.
The parts manager responsibilities and duties ensure that the smooth flow of parts is well managed.
