Senior Information Systems Project Manager

Job Summary: Provides direction and oversight to other project managers in the execution of their projects. Exhibits the highest degree of expertise in complex project management. Provides technical and organizational leadership in this area of specialization. Will assume group and/or large, complex project management as assigned. Provides support and guidance to all levels of functional management throughout organization, acting in the capacity of functional, business or information consultant. Solves complex technical or organizational problems utilizing knowledge in area(s) of specialization. Instructs others in the organization within area(s) of specialization. Specifies reequirements, scope, level of effort required for projects. Assesses team members’ strengths and recommends development opportunities.Works independently; a wide degree of creativity and latititude is expected. Communicates directly with executive project sponsors concerning project cost, staffing and scheduling. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Reports to COO, CMIO, CIO, Administrator or Director level.

Minimum Requirements: Work requires completion of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Health Care Management or Information Management.

Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in Information Services or combination of Information Services and direct healthcare experience where project management is documented as a key job responsibility. Direct large, complex project management experience i.e. projects that required greater than 1000 hours work effort and greater than 30 resources. Portfolio of proven project successes that includes for each project; a Microsoft Project Plan, Issues Tracking documentation, Activation checklist and executive level evaluations required at interview.

Work requires knowledge of healthcare work processes for all healthcare departments and divisions. Candidate must be able to act in the capacity of a functional, business or information consultant to senior executive managers. Candidate should be able to serve as a surrogate for senior executive managers at meetings in regards to information gathering and communication. Work requires interpersonal skills and leadership to manage large, complex projects working effectively with internal and external executive personnel to accomplish organizational goals. Position requires the highest degree of expertise in complex project management. Candidate must have proven success in preparing budget, requirements, scope and level of effort for complex, strategic organizational projects. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to propose, provide instruction about and present plans to team, department and executive level management. Candidate must work independently; communicating regularly and directly with executive project sponsors concerning project progress, costs, staffing and scheduling. Work requires excellent analytical skills to assess organizational, strategic business problems and help the organization?s senior level executives to move toward a desired future state. Position requires proven ability to provide direction and oversight to other project managers in the execution of their projects. Candidate must be able to assess team members strengths and recommend development opportunities for them. Candidate must be able to visit multiple business and education locations.

Ability to focus on details and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and to consistently apply standards with flexibility for various department functions. Knowledge and ability to extract key data elements from LVHN data systems required as well as software programs including MS Word

Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree is preferred.
