The SAP Concur Technology Group Program Management Office (CTG PMO) Manager of Program Management is primarily responsible for managing, guiding, and developing a team of assigned Program Managers. Reporting to the Vice President of the CTG PMO, the Manager of Program Management will be an integral part of the overall CTG PMO leadership team. This position may also be asked to plan, design, and manage successful execution of large cross functional programs and / or projects. Typically, these programs will require coordination between multiple departments and business units and will be focused on the highest priority strategic initiatives of the SAP Concur Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This individual will utilize proven standards within a program management framework to execute their daily work activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing, mentoring, coaching, and developing a team of assigned program managers.
  • Managing the day to day responsibilities of the program management organization.
  • Establishing goals and objectives for the team.
  • Implementing and standardizing program/project management process and methodologies across the organization.
  • Establishing a model that provides transparency to key programs taking place within the organization (dashboards and other forms of communications).
  • Working with cross functional organizations to establish priorities and timelines for program deliverables
  • Directing and managing multiple programs and related activities of cross-functional program personnel to ensure program progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Meeting with sponsors and stakeholders to understand their needs, and developing strategies based upon those needs, defining program deliverables, key measures of success and estimated ROI.
  • Managing program proposals and program plans to determine time frame, funding requirements, program scheduling, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources to various phases of programs.
  • Establishing work plans and staffing for each phase of the program, arranging for recruitment or assignment of program personnel, and driving each team member to complete their deliverables and tasks on schedule.
  • Conferring with the program team to outline work plans and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
  • Reviewing status reports prepared by program team and modifying schedules or plans as required.
  • Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.


Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrated passion, experience, success, and professional development in guiding, coaching, mentoring, and managing others.
  • 10+ years of overall program/project management experience with increasing amounts of responsibility.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in program and project management leadership and successful execution in one or more of the following areas: SaaS development and/or R&D, SaaS product delivery and/or management, datacenter server and networking infrastructure, security, cloud-based or virtual infrastructure, hosting operations, process development, and/or agile methodologies for technology projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Deep understanding and/or certification in project/program management, and agile methodologies.
  • Formal PMO experience using standard PMO tools and processes.
  • Experience working in a global company.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
