FUNCTIONALACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinates withstate agencies at the completion of projects to ensure compliance with all codesthat pertain to the Health Care industry.
  • Serves as aninternal consultant to line managers in the implementation of major businessimperatives.
  • Monitors andmaintains construction progress relative to budget, scope, schedule,conformance to construction documents, ensures compliance with all regulations,codes, standards and laws that are applicable and prepares reports formanagement.
  • Coordinates allaspects of design and construction, which include but are not limited to:
  • Construction Meetings – Meetings with the architect, owner and generalcontractor will be held on a scheduled basis according to the size and need ofthe project.
  • Communication with the administration staff, contractors, and affected hospitaldepartments will be maintained so that all aspects of the project will becoordinated with minor disruptions to patient care.
  • Coordinates with the other sections of the hospital and facilities support toensure the timely and efficient delivery, installation and training of equipment,systems and utilities
  • Responsible formaintaining interim life safety programs required during theconstruction/remodeling project
  • Providesupervision to develop cost, schedule and procedural activities of constructionmanagement firms, design firms and consultants. Provide direction to construction management and design personnel.
  • Assist the PASFM/PDC Division Director and PAS PDC National Manager in forecasting projectworkload and planning resources for future project assignments.
  • Provide consistentcoordination with campus Administrators/COOs in the Division. Ensure all business units are included in thedesign and construction process.
  • Assist the PASFM/PDC Division Director and PAS PDC National Manager with the continueddevelopment of practices, procedures, and guidelines for project management andreporting.
  • Lead ValueManagement workshops as required for major projects and ensure consistentengineering standards apply through all building projects.
  • Assist the PASFM/PDC Division Director and PAS PDC National Manager to ensure theorganization is utilizing the best in-class technology and training availableto effectively manage project scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality, documentmanagement, and reporting procedures.
  • Motivatepersonnel, maintain high level of employee moral and foster a harmonious workenvironment.
  • Assist the PASFM/PDC Division Director and PAS PDC National Manager with the continued developmentand implementation of formal procurement practices that will establish consistentselection criteria, performance feedback, and general guidance to constructionmanagement and architectural/engineering firms.
  • Assist the PAS FM/PDCDivision Director and PAS PDC National Manager with providing direction forplanning new building infrastructure, development, and project coordinationacross all projects

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Qualifications
Required:
  • Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred): Bachelors’ degree inEngineering, Construction Management, or Business or relevant work experiencerequired.
  • Experience (required and preferred):
  • Min of 5-7 years of experience in estimating construction and projectmanagement required.
  • Min of 5 years of experience in architecture or managing project designis preferred.
  • American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) – Certified HealthcareConstructor (CHC) is preferred.
  • Management or training experience with project managers ispreferred.
  • Must demonstrate financial and operational managementskills, and demonstrate the ability to analyze technical estimating andbudgeting tools for construction.
  • Prefer healthcare project management experience.
  • Prefer someone with experience in E-Builder, Primavera, Expedition,Prolog, Contract Manager or Access.
  • Prefer someone with experience in buying, purchasing, andcontracting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Routine periods of sitting, walking and standing are required. Occasionally lifting and pushing. Some travel required between system hospitalsand clinic sites.
