    Supervision of all TC Activities and Administration including staff

    Ability to translate the vision of the affiliate into action

    Act as the Executive Officer of NAMI Tarrant County

    Prepare agenda for monthly board meeting

    Reviewing and signing contracts

    Ensure fiduciary accountability and responsibility

    Ensure adherence to NAMI Bylaws

    Represents NAMI -TC in the community and within the NAMI Texas and NAMI National

    Preside at all meetings of the membership and Board of Directors

    Assign committee chairs to address and problem solve a variety of NAMI TC initiatives

    Serve as ex-official member on all committees with the exception of the Nominating Committee

    Assure that the Board fulfills its responsibilities for the governance of the incorporation

    Chair meetings of the Board. See that it functions effectively, interacts with committees and fulfills all of it’s duties

    Develop agendas for monthly membership meetings, arrange speakers for presentation during general meeting

    Recommend composition of Board Committees

    Recommend Committee Chairs with an eye to the future

    Present to the board an evaluation of the pace, direction, and organizational strength of the corporation

    Have general active management of the business of the corporation

    Sign and deliver in the name of the corporation instruments pertaining to the business of the corporation

    Oversee the maintenance records

    Perform other duties prescribed by the board

    Provide for orderly transition of duties to duly elected successors prior to expiration of their term

    Appoint the chairman of the Nominating Committee

    Appoint the Audit Committee Members and Budget Committee Members

    Special Talents Desired:

    • good people skills that promote team collaboration and volunteer recruitment
    • ability to translate the vision of the affiliate into action
    • comfortable in public speaking and building community relationships
    • experience and track record of healthy fiduciary management
    • excellent communication skills in writing and verbal communications
    • familiarity with Robert’s Rules of Order
    • educated in at least one NAMI program
    • attends NAMI Support Groups regularly
