The Physical Security Technology Project Manager plans, executes and finalizes a project according to set timelines, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and potentially third-party vendors to deliver projects that meet expectations. The Project Manager is a great communicator, tactful diplomat, problem-solver, thinker and analyzer, in addition to possessing the ability to understand and respond to clients’ needs in rapidly changing business environments.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the Security Technology team’s implementation of security cameras, access control, emergency phones, detection devices, alarm systems, etc.
  • Work closely with Security Technology Specialists and subject matter experts to ensure a sustainable deployment of security-related devices
  • Hold vendors and contractors responsible for the installation of security-related devices according to manufacturer specs
  • Assure compliance with applicable standard operating procedures and the policy manual and ensure that policies and procedures are up to date
  • Understand Rock Ventures’ expectations and establish, implement and test processes to ensure those expectations are met
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive issues
  • Provide support to law enforcement agencies as requested by the Rock Family of Companies
  • Manage project phases, coordinate and drive communication, facilitate decisions and follow through on the execution of projects
  • Attend meetings both internally and externally representing Rock Security
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the security industry
  • Be consistent and conversant in all matters applicable to security


Requirements

  • 5 years of security experience or project management experience on projects related to physical security
  • Experience in security system design and implementation of physical security systems
  • Strong understanding of access controls, CCTV, and alarm and intercom systems
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling and requirements
  • Ability to visualize conceptual designs and turn them into actionable projects
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Analytical and creative thinking skills
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational and project management skills
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft programs, specifically Visio or the equivalent
  • Ability to motivate a team to work together in the most efficient manner
  • Strong diplomacy skills and sensitivity to protocol
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures and to deliver sensitive or difficult information tactfully
  • Ability to promote company culture as a tool to advance a project
  • Ability to act in a decisive manner in emergency situations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of national, regional and local current events with a sufficient understanding to put events into context
  • Ability to handle aggressive deadlines, juggle multiple responsibilities, and assess problems and solve them with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication, comprehension and presentation skills
  • Understanding of the Rock Family of Companies, its crisis management structure and how events may affect operations
  • Flexibility during times of change
