Your Mission

As a Head of Public Sector, you will be working with top-tier State and Local accounts and managing a small Public Sector sales team. You’ll leverage existing relationships with C-level executives, develop new relationships and act as a trusted business partner to deeply understand their unique challenges and goals. You’ll promote the innovative power of Google Enterprise products and SADA solutions to make public sector organizations more productive, collaborative and mobile. And you’ll mentor and manage other sales resources dedicated to selling Google Cloud into the public sector.

More importantly, you’ll help government customers transform their IT services and significantly improve the citizen experience. Your responsibilities will include developing and managing a growing customer base. You will deepen business and technical relationships and launch new customer services by helping to define, identify and pursue key opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the C-level level as well as with software developers and IT architects. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about government priorities and technical challenges.

  • Serve as a key member of the GCP Public Sector team, helping to advance our market and technical strategy, as well as managing a small sales team.
  • Ability to leverage C-level relationships with executives.
  • Build and deepen executive relationships with public sector customers.
  • Articulate and implement strategic territory and account plans aligned to SADA’s strategic direction.
  • Understand the technical considerations, certifications, and procurement processes specific to the public sector.
  • Identify specific prospects/partners/channels to approach while communicating a relevant value proposition to potential customers.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure that they understand relevant cloud use cases, are successful using SADA’s services, and embrace Google Cloud.

Expectations

Required Travel – 20% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events.

Customer Facing – You will interact with customers on a regular basis, sometimes daily, other times weekly/bi-weekly. Common touchpoints occur when qualifying potential opportunities, at project kickoff, throughout the engagement as progress is communicated, and at project close. You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including engineers, technical project managers, and executives.

Training – Ongoing with first-week orientation at HQ followed by a 90-day onboarding schedule. Details of the timeline can be shared.

Job Requirements

Required Credentials:

  • BA/BS degree required

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of enterprise sales and/or business development experience with a focus on state and local government customers.
  • 5+ years of technology sales experience selling enterprise software, networking, infrastructure, managed hosting services, or cloud computing services
  • 5+ Sales Management
  • Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding sales quota

Useful Qualifications:

  • Experience selling Google Cloud offerings
