We are seeking a passionate and seasoned leader to be the Head of Events & Experiences. This role will develop strategic experience initiatives as well as lead a matrixed team in executing key events and interactive experiences. This includes managing, advancing and expanding key partner relationships, strategic planning, creative ideation as well as project managing activities related to supporting the brand in experiential efforts and growth initiatives.

As an experienced producer and strategist, your role will be to partner cross-functionally to strategize, influence and develop the most compelling and impactful way to create and execute Minecraft events and experiences for our community and beyond. You will be responsible for partnering internally and externally to create innovative, integrated experiences that creatively broaden and deepen the engagement of our community. Critical to the success of this role is deep collaboration across the organization, building trust and understanding of the power of this discipline.

This role will work cross-functionally to drive the development of strategic community engagement programs. An ideal candidate will have conventional and non-traditional experience. This role identifies and develops new program opportunities, manages budgets, leads and develops a matrixed staff, manages and communicates ROI and other KPIs to the leadership team, manages timelines and planning, ensures operational excellence, negotiates vendor contracts as well as provides regular reporting to leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Build an experience strategy and game plan that is relevant and meaningful to the overall goals, objectives and values of Minecraft
  • Develop and ideate white space opportunities for brand-appropriate experiences that keep Minecraft relevant and drive deeper engagement for the community
  • Oversee the development of Minecraft’s global licensed & community event strategy and portfolio, ensuring it aligns to business objectives and improves the efficiency and impact of events
  • Take full ownership of community & licensed events program end-to-end, including overall project management and execution, goal setting, experiential activations, content, identifying partners/vendors, communications, budget management, analysis, and reporting
  • Work in collaboration with PR, Creative, Digital, Marketing and Social Media teams to promote and publicize events and activations to boost awareness and traffic
  • Drive innovation and proactive solutions to problems that may arise, lead and think like an entrepreneur
  • Partner with Consumer Products team, Game Development teams and Marketing teams to understand priorities, product, business operations and metrics to develop successful integrated events
  • Lead monthly program reviews, determine projects scope and scale and ensure adequate resources are available and deliverable schedules are met
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Minecraft brand and ethos in order to capture the pulse of the community and reflect it in the partnerships and experiences that we align with
  • Proactively cultivate new partners and opportunities to expand the Minecraft brand footprint in interactive ways
  • Understand how to develop deep relationships, nurture them to success and drive revenue growth
    Process focused, able to create and maintain best practices


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience across events and/or partner marketing and event marketing
  • Experience working with consumer-facing brands in the tech and gaming verticals
  • Hands-on experience developing and executing creative and end-to-end physical brand
