2 Brothers Moving & Delivery has an opportunity for a full-time General Operations Manager who is especially skilled in creating consistent systems and managing people to exceed client expectations. 2 Brothers is a high demand business that needs leadership that is motivated to help us scale to meet demand while maintaining the 2 Brothers brand standards.
Role (duties):
This role will perform the following functions on a regular basis:
- Management & HR (20%) – Perform hiring, termination and performance improvement duties with a team of 5-7 supervisors overseeing a team of 30-40 staff members. Responsible for employee engagement, staff goal alignment with organizational goals, on boarding & training, and retention.
- Organizational Development (20%) – Create new processes and streamline systems, identify new opportunities to better serve our customers & team, provide support to company-wide initiatives and strategies, act as a contributing member of the management team and support person to the CEO with an emphasis on strategic decision making for the company, present quarterly on departmental progress and metrics.
- Operations (20%) – Oversee scheduling of moving teams and equipment. Manage the amount of resources available to ensure a balance of redundancy and utilization. Responsible for workplace safety including injury prevention and overall field performance.
- Sales & Customer Service (20%) – Manage the client services team and oversees quantity and quality of jobs ensuring alignment with the organizations mission, values and goals. Manage the workflow, schedule and outcomes of the client services team including client satisfaction.
- Culture Leadership (10%) – Support company-wide and team enhancing events, celebrations, display of successes, victories and overall company fun.
- Administrative Support (10%) – Process timesheet verifications for direct reports and provide reporting to the executive team on departmental KPI’s.
This role reports directly to the CEO.
The work environment:
We have a casual work environment located in the downtown NW Industrial district of Portland. The office team periodically works side by side in the field with our moving & warehouse teams to create cohesion and client contact. Work in the field involves fast paced, high intensity, physically challenging work with a heavy emphasis on teamwork, coordination and client contact. The general operations manager is expected to set the example for both office and field teams and gain an in depth first hand knowledge of our service.
Goal posts:
The ideal General Operations Manager will play an instrumental role in taking our team to the next level, they will:
- Increase retention of full-time permanent staff members to 70% or greater
- Identify, hire and train 2 additional field supervisors to enable expansion of the management team and those team meet or exceed their benchmarks.
- Develop a process to consistently execute on the staff on boarding & training plan ensuring expectations and tools for success are known across all staff members.
- Develop a formal workplace safety program that improves item care to at least 92% and maintains workplace injuries at or below benchmark.
- Increase capacity to 30 FTE to enable sales goals while maintaining team skill balance and quality of work.
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate for this role will exhibit the following:
- A proven integrator whose past experience has allowed them to take existing activities, systems and processes and make them more consistent, trainable, reproducible and reliable.
- Experience in leadership roles where assertive people management skills and proactive delegation capabilities were utilized and where the needs and motivation of an entry level staff member base were well understood
- Proven history of a personal improvement focus with an always learning mentality, bringing outside knowledge into the organization on a regular basis
- Moving industry experience a plus but not required, we will train the right candidate on our industry
Compensation:
$60000-$78000 including a profit share, plus benefits
