Position Summary
Responsible for developing new midstream market initiatives, assessing new markets, and capturing business opportunities with heavy focus on the specialty product terminal industry. Responsible for identifying and developing proposals for new business opportunities including M&A, organic growth, and divestiture strategies. Heavy emphasis on building new relationships in new markets as well as growing existing customer relationships through joint ventures. Reports to CEO. Compensation and level will be commensurate with experience.
Position Responsibilities
- Strategic Leader: Will work closely with the BKEP senior management to provide strategic direction and leadership regarding corporate growth initiatives and new business opportunities.
- Risk Management: Responsible for establishing the business and strategic case with supporting financial modeling for mergers, capital projects, and divestitures.
- Growth: Generate new opportunities that result in BKEPâs continued growth through market analysis, strategic business planning including identification, qualification, and capture of business.
- Identify revenue opportunities for existing assets and generate business plans and/or capital projects to deliver revenue growth.
- Develop capital, revenue and expense projections for capital projects, assess capacity utilization, and oversee economic evaluation of projects.
- Collaborate with operations teams to oversee the implementation of approved projects.
- Lead the process for conducting market research, completing market forecasts, performing assessment of competition in industry, project modeling, and financial analysis of new business development prospects, and prepare and present such opportunities to senior management.
- Present well organized development opportunities to senior management and Board for review and approval.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor’s degree + 10 years of leadership level experience in energy industry commercial development with a strong preference for demonstrated commercial development experience in the terminal industry.
- Able to build and sustain effective relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to handle multiple engagements simultaneously required
- Strong leadership and project development qualities are necessary as the Director will be building and leading internal teams, developing and nurturing 3rd-party relationships, and overseeing the development of multiple projects.
- Ability to run quickly and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify the financial impact of prospective businesses.
