Responsibilities

The Director of Student Success leads cross-departmental collaboration, development, and implementation of an Enrollment Management strategic plan that aims at serving students to realize their academic, social, and emotional success while improving traditional undergraduate retention and graduation rates. The Director is charged with promoting and contributing to the existing student-centered culture at Mercer while at the same time assessing the environment and implementing new initiatives for student success.

The Director of Student Success must be very organized, analytical, creative, flexible, self-motivated with a personal commitment to excellence and efficiency, and passionate about serving current Mercer students to achieve their educational goals. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, this position is responsible for leading all student success initiatives such as student programming, individual student success counseling, strategy and operations management, and project management in support of enrollment goals, including supervision of the Assistant Director of Student Success.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Business Administration, Psychology, Education, Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field is required, along with at least three years of prior experience in college or university enrollment management, student success, retention, or student development. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of managing multiple projects, student development, and enrollment management along with the self-motivated ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively. Candidates with a master’s degree and/or prior experience in higher education technology solutions such as Starfish retention software, Campus Management SIS, Slate CRM, and using WordPress CMS are highly desirable.
