Collaborates with operational leadership to drive process improvement programs that support various areas of the hospital.
Monitors and reports the impact and value of performance improvement programs and identifies continuous improvement opportunities. Works collaboratively with senior leadership across the Stanford Health Care (SHC) and Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare (SHC-VC) entities including the SHC-VC Chief Medical Officer SHC-VC Quality, Patient Safety and Accreditation, SHC Quality, Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness and SHC Improvement team.
Advises SHC-VC leadership and facilitates prioritization, planning and resourcing of key initiatives that produce optimal organization outcomes.
Directs and prioritizes multiple strategic initiatives
Obtains and analyzes clinical and operational information from a variety of internal and external sources relating to patient safety, utilization of resources, physician practice patterns, system problems and other areas of quality to drive performance improvement.
Uses data to identify trends, variances, deficiencies, and problems to drive performance improvement.
Identifies SHC-VC system-wide performance improvement structures and oversees alignment, deployment, and ongoing function at SHC-VC and collaborates with SHC to align efforts (RITE, CELT, Leadership Development Programs, CSRP).
Provides support and advice to Executives and other Senior Management engaged in leading transformation initiative throughout the hospital.

Job Qualifications:
Education / Experience
5 years of relevant acute-care hospital experience in quality, patient safety, or performance improvement.
Master’s degree required; clinical experience preferred.
Knowledgeable, experience and certification in Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA or other performance improvement methods, with record of successful improvement projects. Lean six sigma black belt preferred.
Established record of designing and executing advanced data/statistical analyses for performance improvement in healthcare.
Strong evidence of leadership, facilitation, project management and collaboration.
Demonstrated analytic and software capabilities with strong writing, problem solving, and communication skills.
License/Certification
Lean six sigma black belt required within one year from date of hire.
