Abington School District, a Philadelphia Suburban School District with fiscal stability, is seeking a Director of Innovation who will lead the collaboration between the Departments of Technology and Teaching and Learning by providing research, planning and vision to initiatives that will move the district forward. The Director of Innovation must be a strategic thinker with strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will create enthusiasm and demonstrate credibility to advance and sustain instructional momentum in the appropriate use of technology for Teaching and Learning. This position will work with educational and other school administrators to ensure that the technology program and services meet educational needs as well as communication and management needs of the schools and programs. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Teaching and Learning to oversee professional development of staff on the integration of technology into the curriculum and oversee all administrative aspects of technology programs and services in the district, including infrastructure implementation and maintenance, support of staff in the use of hardware and software, and management of equipment.
An advanced degree in Educational Technology or related field is preferred, with preference given to candidates with a valid supervisory or teaching certification and experience in a K-12 environment. Must have a proven record in technology planning and personnel management. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
