Overview

The Group CIO team supports key Infrastructure systems within the End User Services and Platform Technology sub-domains. The teams consist of Engineering resources supporting platforms like Hadoop, SDLC Tools, BI tools, PAAS and a suite of products used for project and portfolio management. The teams also support and manage a wide variety of End User Computing platforms like physical and virtual Desktops, Skype for Business and Microsoft Office suite of products. The Core Application Engineer is responsible for the packaging, maintenance, and overall expertise in a number of core desktop applications, including Chrome, Flash, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, Visual C++, .NET, etc. Qualified professionals will need to have experience in packaging these applications for distribution via SCCM and they should also have experience in Group Policy Settings, MSI, and App-V with a deep knowledge of application packaging and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is required.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and implement core application packages, integrate with associated plugins, provide tooling and plan for global rollout
• Research and develop standard configuration settings appropriate for each application
• Design and implement of any associated infrastructure management components (AD configuration, Group Policy settings and SCCM applications/packages)
• Development software integration lab test cases and test plans for each application, including automated and manual testing processes
• Assist deployment project teams with defining user acceptance testing
• Assist software distribution teams with completion of the software release process following successful lab testing

Skills You’ll Need:

• Extensive software engineering and deployment experience with Office, browsers, Adobe applications and windows management tools, including ownership, support and maintenance in multi-language environments
• Wide technical knowledge of Microsoft client Operating Systems including Windows 7 and 10, and their use in global enterprise environments
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills across the Windows client environment
• Understanding of application packaging technologies used in corporate environments including .MSI and App-V. MSIX experience a plus
• Experience with package distribution methodologies in SCCM
