In this position, you’ll become one of Jon Morrow’s three primary caregivers. You’ll have a regular schedule, but you might also occasionally switch shifts with other caregivers, so you’ll need to have a flexible schedule. Your primary responsibility will be to help Jon live a full and active life, not only caring for him in his home, but also accompanying him to work meetings, social events, dates, and even out of town speaking engagements. His life is already extraordinary, and your job will be to help him keep it that way, so he can impact as many lives as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Morning and evening routines. Every morning and night, Jon follows exactly the same routines for bathing, getting dressed, and stretching. You’ll need to learn those routines and practice them until you can do them quickly, effectively, and with minimal missteps.
  • Taking care of Jon at night. As one of Jon’s main caregivers, you’ll be working some night shifts. You’ll be able to sleep, and you’ll have your own bedroom, but if Jon calls, you’ll need to come.
  • Normal caregiving tasks. You’ll need to feel comfortable doing tasks that are normal in any caregiving position, such as assistance going to the restroom, feeding, giving water, and just being available if needed for any reason.
  • Events, socials, and dates. You’ll accompany Jon to business lunches and dinners, conferences, socials, dates, and anything else he does. Many caregivers report loving this, because you’ll get to meet lots of interesting and powerful people, as well as taste lots of gourmet food!
  • Travel. Jon plans to take 6-8 trips per year, and you’ll be expected to accompany him (all-expenses-paid, of course). You’ll go with him to prestigious conferences, accompany him on stage while he speaks, and even get to go on vacation with him around the world.
  • Giving supplements and medication. Fortunately, Jon is in great health and requires no controlled substances, but you’ll need to give him some supplements and medication during different shifts. His nurse will provide you with a schedule and set out the medications in the correct dosage, so you won’t typically have to do any measurement, but you’ll need to provide him with the medications on schedule.
  • Cooking. Jon is a major foodie, and while he does eat out once or twice a week, you’ll also need to be comfortable cooking a wide variety of recipes. Nothing extravagant that requires chef skills, but you will be preparing food from a wide variety of nationalities, so you’ll need to enjoy cooking.
  • Cleaning and chores. Jon likes for his home to be neat and tidy at all times. Guests can pop in unexpectedly, and he never wants to be embarrassed by a messy home. To assist with this, we have a schedule for cleaning and chores, but to be successful in this role, you should already be a neat and tidy person.
  • Caring for Jon’s dog. We hope you love dogs! Jon just got a new Golden Retriever puppy, and caring for it will be a part of your daily routine. You’ll take the dog on walks, assist Jon with obedience training, and also brush and otherwise groom the dog.
  • Driving. Whenever Jon needs to leave the house, you’ll need to drive him in his minivan. The van is fully equipped with an automatic ramp, tiedowns, and everything you need to transport Jon safely and easily.
  • Photos and videos. Social media is an increasingly large part of Jon’s life, so you’ll need to feel comfortable with taking photos and videos with a cell phone and eventually learning how to use a camera. You’ll never be expected to work at the same level as a photographer or videographer, but if you should be capable of creating the kind of content people post to Facebook and instagram.
