What you’ll be doing…

Wireless Project Lead for the Illinois – Wisconsin region. The position will support a wide range of cross functional projects including new small cells and modification to existing cells, deployment of new technologies, capacity growth, and technology change-outs. This role requires close working relationship with the different functional teams (Transport, Construction, Cell Equipment, Real Estate, System Performance, RF, and Network Assurance).
Project Manager is overall tasked with:
  • Establishing Project Plans,
  • Establishing clear goals and objectives of projects to the functional teams
  • Identify and implement process improvements to adapt to business needs and drive efficiencies
  • Develop and track objective quality KPIs to measure project performance and identify corrective actions
  • Identifying potential resource issues/constraints
  • Assigning responsibilities when appropriate to teams
  • Define processes to support the sequence of deliverables to meet schedule milestones
  • Prioritize workload when appropriate,
  • Monitor, track and report Project Progress,
  • Develop contingency plans as necessary (Risk Management)
  • Closeout project and provide evaluation on effectiveness/efficiency.
Project Scope: Project Lead will develop project plans based on regional/company goals and strategy as well as ensure the functional teams understand these goals and objectives and their role to accomplish them. If the scope changes, Project Manager will be responsible to ensure all stakeholders and team members understand the change and the impact to the project.
Project Schedule: Project Lead will collect data from the functional team on the progress of the projects, build an understanding on issues and work with teams to develop a contingency plan, communicate changes to teams affect by the changes, and monitor the project to help ensure the functional teams and management understand the progress, potential issues, and potential resolutions at any given time.
Project Financial: The Project Lead will also have some responsibility on the financial impact to the project. This varies depending on the project but includes providing updates on project close-out (to be placed in-service), financial impact based on contingency plan, gathering financial requirements from functional teams to build budgets, and provide monthly updates on projects as it relates to CIP (Construction In-Progress).
Wireless Project Lead – Network will also have the responsibility to find new innovative ways to improve the overall process of managing projects, communicating information, sharing best practices, and teaching/lending a hand to others to help improve teams overall effectiveness/efficiency.


What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in the Wireless Industry.
  • Project Management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • PMP certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel or Ericsson Switch and Base Station Equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Transport and Real Estate requirements.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Microsoft Project, Excel Word and Power Point.
