Vice-President, Manufacturing
Omnicell is excited to be hiring a Vice-President (VP) Manufacturing for our Milpitas, CA manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Chief Manufacturing & Supply Chain Officer, the VP Manufacturing is responsible for all aspects of providing Omnicell customers with quality Point of Care medication management products at expected delivery and cost. This is a fast paced, daily operational role coupled with dynamic change management and strategic planning having the objective to increase Omnicell’s market share of commercialized products and introduce new products. This role is parallel among a network of factory managers which are supported by a Global Supply Chain organization and work closely with the company’s Quality organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Manufacturing factory team with functional responsibilities across Procurement, Planning, Production, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Data Management.
- Champion initiatives requiring change management to transform processes, systems, and organizations.
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to address product quality issues that arise across the supply chain, including those reported by customers. Drive to continuously improve the customer experience.
- Assure manufacturing process capability and production capacity meet company revenue requirements in conjunction with related space and facilities requirements for highest revenue product family,
- Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques for increasing capacity, problem solving, and waste elimination.
- Partner with other business leaders to optimize the supply chain for Point of Care products through sourcing changes within Omnicell and external suppliers.
- Provide senior manufacturing leadership and coaching to Manufacturing New Product Introduction teams to deliver new product which meet customer expectations.
- Achieve product margin goals, driven by year over year cost reduction targets.
- Plan and meet factory expense budget.
- Meet KPI targets for employee safety as well as product quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Provide senior manufacturing leadership for information technology system transitions.
- Develop and coach team members. Drive employee engagement.
- Instill a culture of Quality and Continuous Improvement.
- Collaborate across the Omnicell factory network to leverage capabilities and resources.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- ERP System knowledge
- Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills
- Excellently demonstrated written communication skills
- Excellently demonstrated verbal communication skills in individual and group setting.
- Manufacturing experience with multiple, technical, complex product lines
- Quality System experience; minimum ISO 14385 standards
- Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing
- Proven experience transferring products between suppliers or factories
- Proven experience with demand planning processes for multiple product lines
- Proven track record developing and managing a team that works across an organization
- Proven track record introducing new products
- Proven track record implementing strategic initiatives
- Lean implementation leadership experience
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of manufacturing functional management experience with a minimum 5+ years as factory manager
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- SAP ERP experience
- Lean, Six Sigma or other professional certificates
Work Conditions:
- Milpitas, California manufacturing facility.
- Extended or irregular work hours, as needed.
- 10% domestic and international travel.
