OVERVIEW:

The VP, GM (MSS & CMS) is a hands-on role directing and coordinating the company’s Microelectronics (SiP, Stack Memory, Storage Devices and Custom) business, supporting the SVP AMS and other members of Mercury’s executive leadership. This role has direct responsibility for the Microelectronics business and our strategic partnership with key suppliers like semi-conductor companies or others.

An experience in the semi-conductor / microelectronics industry will be important to be successful. Understanding of the Defense Electronics market will be a plus.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for overseeing the product manufacturing functions for two product lines. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering, operations, and manufacturing.

  • Drive the growth Strategy of that business by understanding market, market trends, customer needs and competition. As part of the growth Strategy, M&A is included.
  • Drives the long-range strategic planning process for MSS & CMS in support of the overall Mercury strategy.
  • Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of manufacturing, quality, engineering, and sales.
  • Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products.
  • Develops Business unit plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. .
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates talent to ensure the efficient operation of the function and growth of future leaders.
  • Manage capital improvement plans related to manufacturing and facilities management
  • Requires ability to negotiate and compromise, and ability to communicate and influence senior executive leadership


EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering or Operations. MBA a plus
  • Multi-site management experience as well as experience in Microelectronics Operation including sub-assembly and/or systems integration
  • 10-12 years of progressive management experience (Engineering, Sales, Operations focused), with at least 5 years of experience at a Director level or above in a highly visible operations or management reporting role and extensive experience dealing with executive management
  • Superior technical and analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of operations in the Technology and Defense business
  • Experience across all financial disciplines with an emphasis on operational finance and accounting, including experience with acquisitions, purchase accounting and acquisition integrations
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues to all levels, effectively linking business issues, financial results and strategy, and articulating the vision for finance in a clear and compelling way, generating enthusiasm and commitment
  • Demonstrated success working n a matrixed organization
  • Understanding of AS9100 requirements and managing the ongoing requirements to be compliant
  • Strong personal and business values well-aligned with the cultural values of the company
  • Strong people development skills are essential, with the ability to continuously attract, recruit, train, develop, motivate, and retain high-potential people


MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISON:

  • Responsible for 5 direct reports; 100+ employees
  • Manage the matrix – partner with functional leaders to manage indirect reports (HR, Finance, Marketing, Sales)
