Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking/private equity/venture capital, corporate strategy, sales operations, or equivalent experience in a technology/media company.
- Experience in a technical, quantitative, or business field.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA, graduate degree, or equivalent practical experience in a technical, quantitative, or business field.
- 10 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking/private equity/venture capital, corporate strategy, sales operations, or equivalent experience in a technology/media company.
- Experience in organizational design and translating operating model strategy to execution in an Internet, e-commerce, or technology business.
- Ability to successfully work and partner across multiple functions in an organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Global Business Strategy (GBS) team provides insightful review, perspective and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google’s businesses. We are a central team that typically engages on projects impacting multiple areas of Google’s business. We are integral partners to both our counterparts embedded within business lines and to executives across Google’s business organization. We are focused on delivering insights and impact throughout our work. GBS is part of the Global Go-to-Market organization that makes sure Google’s complex business is pursuing the best strategy. As a member of the Global Business Strategy team, you will be shaping the future direction of Google’s Global Business Organization by working directly with executives and cross-functional leaders on critical projects. You will work with team members who work on top priority strategic projects to evolve our operating strategy, and solve critical problems in small, fluid teams. As a Strategy and Operations Manager, you will demonstrate excellence in thought leadership, business judgment, and analytical problem-solving. You will be involved and responsible for shaping, managing, and executing a project or work stream with our stakeholders, analyzing its results and presenting the insights to leaders.
The Global Business Strategy (GBS) team helps make Google’s complex business organization run smoothly. The group drives core planning activities and develops frameworks to integrate global business strategies across the Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships organizations. Experts in both Google’s go to market organization and the industries where we compete, they drive strategic and operational improvements while working closely with Senior Leadership on a range of critical initiatives and projects. The GBS team is at the forefront of addressing the Business organization’s most strategic priorities, reporting and working directly for Google’s Chief Business Officer.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to complex and time-critical projects for senior leaders by quickly understanding context and developing a prioritized scope and approach for resolution in ambiguous situations.
- Analyze and determine key insights by crossing research results with key business drivers, competitive environment, trends, and operating metrics.
- Execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that translates data into actionable insights.
- Communicate findings to senior leadership by preparing polished presentations and identifying key takeaways.
- Manage parts of larger corporate initiatives both on an on-going basis and on an ad-hoc basis while collaborating with global stakeholders.
