Role & Opportunity:
The Surface Product Finance team provides end-to-end financial planning support for all Surface family products. This team drives long range product and business planning, market sizing, competitive analysis, bundling, market expansion and strategic partnerships support. For all of these initiatives we work closely with Surface Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain and Business Development teams.
We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager for a high impact role to drive product and portfolio planning support for our global MSFT Devices business.
Responsibilities
- Be the product finance leader for a designated Surface product line.
- Partner with the Engineering & Marketing organizations to support end-to-end product planning, profitability strategies and strategic decision making from a well-rounded business perspective.
- Build robust financial models and decision support frameworks with key partners in engineering and marketing to optimize the profitability of the devices portfolio, guide product roadmap, model opportunities for improvement, develop standard offer assessment frameworks where appropriate to streamline new program offerings
- Conduct financial analysis and statistical analysis to ensure business and financial success of new offerings from a unit, share, and profitability perspective
- Present strategic options and analysis to senior level stakeholders including CVPs
- Partner with other Surface finance teams to ensure appropriate landing of new offerings in overall finance ROB (reporting, target setting, budgeting, etc.)
- Partner as appropriate with other businesses and finance teams, e.g. Windows and Office, to develop enterprise-wide device and service offerings
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Finance, Marketing, Business or other related fields. MBA or the equivalent in work experience preferred
- 6+ years of relevant finance experience with progressive advancement within your current discipline
- Able to handle multiple stakeholders and workstreams and prioritize as needed, including pushing back
- Ability to handle a high degree of ambiguity, and fast-paced change management is essential
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking
- Solid understanding of the technology / consumer electronics industry, particularly in devices, services, business models and economics

- Ability to effectively manage multiple inputs across many stakeholders, prioritizing the effort on main drivers
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at a super-fast pace
- High level of self-motivation; ability to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and resourcefulness to get things done
