POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining and managing inventory levels in the Surgical Services and Central Sterile areas. Monitors expenditure data collection, trends and cost analysis within the Surgery area. Provides input to the Surgery budgetary process. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, Operating Room, maintains material and equipment inventories at appropriate levels to ensure the smooth delivery of care. Actively keeps purchases in line with established contracts as well as utilizes methods to enhance JIT philosophy. Manages consignment of supply items. Utilizes all information programs for data collection for analysis and preparation of statistical reports. Provides updates at staff meetings on a regular basis. Coordinates and supervises the Central Sterile Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Demonstrated knowledge of management theories, i.e. finance, leadership, and CQI. Proficiency in computer programs applicable to this position.
2. Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
3. Working knowledge of regulatory agency requirements.
4. Minimum of two to three years supervisory or management experience in Central Sterile or Surgery.
5. Business degree preferred. Registered central Service Technician certification preferred.
