We use Agile and Lean-based methods in a pragmatic manner and are looking to improve both in our process and technology.
What We Need
Geoforce is looking for a certified Scrum Master that will own and adapt as needed our Agile Scrum methodology moving forward. The right person for this role will be a change agent to drive our agile teams to deliver business value and will enjoy the challenge of championing process improvement. You will work with both Product and Engineering across multiple Scrum teams to foster a highly collaborative environment while ensuring adherence to our Working Agreement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning and facilitation of standard Agile meetings to include: backlog grooming, sprint reviews, retrospectives, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups
- Engage with any needed business person or entity to help remove impediments to Agile teams being able to deliver on committed goals; escalate key risks and issues impeding team effectiveness
- Support agile tool adoption and consistent utilization – help maintain Jira and ensure the team is tracking on goals while owning communication of team progress and associated metrics (burn down, velocity, etc.)
- Coach Agile teams on Agile Scrum methodology and promote/evangelize Agile across the organization
- Partner with Product Management to ensure that stories and backlogs are properly articulated, prioritized, and detailed.
- Facilitate release management and coordinate release scheduling
- Cultivate strong working relationships between business and technology teams to foster a cross-functional team environment
- Drive continuous process improvement and change initiatives
Requirements
- 3 years minimum experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile Scrum environment, 5+ years preferred
- Experience leading multiple Agile Scrum teams
- Demonstrated competency in all core areas of Agile Scrum and the SDLC
- Proven success as a servant leader with skills in facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, and fostering transparency through effective communication
- Self motivated, driven personality with demonstrated ability to solve problems and move Agile teams forward despite obstacles
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Proficient with Jira and Confluence including the use of Jiraâs Agile performance metrics and reporting options
- Experience working with distributed teams including offshore personnel
- Scrum Master Certification required, advanced level preferred
- BS or MS degree in computer science or equivalent
