POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages the operations and business management of the medical practice: leads employee, oversees the medical practice’s patient accounts and ensures overall compliance and regulatory processes in the medical practice.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Be able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Have knowledge of computer and software systems utilized by the department, or be able to learn them.
  • Be able to independently and accurately delegate responsibility and make logical decisions.
  • Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Provide operational oversight of the practice.
  • Implement short-term and long-term goals and objectives for areas of responsibilities in accordance with those of the practice/BocaCare and interprets these to the staff.
  • Have knowledge of budget development, financial report analysis, payer-mix analysis and analysis of receivables to write offs.
  • Plan, prepare, implement and monitor area’s operational and capital budgets to ensure sound fiscal management consistent with the goals of BocaCare.
  • Manage productivity within department: minimum target is 100%; meets targets set in assigned area.
  • Manage performance and ensures 100% of all required performance appraisals are completed.
  • Ensure all staff members adhere to established Service Excellence Standards.
  • Monitor and manage staffing, turnover and vacancy in assigned departments.
  • Ensure continued development and education of self and staff.
  • Ensure excellent open communication within the department through regular staff meetings, preparation and distribution of minutes, and other means to keep the department informed on a timely basis.
  • Provide overall planning, control, organization, and monitoring for these services and the employees within these areas
  • Assist the Director of Operations in analyzing, monitoring and controlling the budgets and operations of assigned areas to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery of quality patient care.
  • Support an environment that promotes departmental and organizational objectives by providing cooperative and courteous service to all customers
  • Be responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units.
  • Directly supervise non-supervisory employees.
  • Directly process the interviewing, hiring and assuring evaluation and competency of all personnel for areas of responsibility.
  • Recognize the influence of beliefs and cultures on behaviors and accept strengths and limitations in others.
  • Exhibit adaptability, flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior.
  • Exhibit calm responsiveness to emergency or stressful situations.
  • Recognize situations which require notification of a supervisor.
  • Direct process of interviewing, hiring and assuring evaluation and competency of all personnel for areas of responsibility.
  • Effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of Directors.
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Manage all departmental subordinate leads/coordinators that supervise the employees in the area/practice.
  • Be responsible for operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the cost-effectiveness and efficient delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the practice.
  • Complete assignments with promptness and accuracy.
  • Meet deadlines for all tasks assigned.
  • Prioritize work assignments and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Be an active contributor in all customer service initiatives.
  • Be proactive in providing hospitality to all Boca Care patients, families, visitors, employees and physicians.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Boca Care.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Clinical background preferred

OR

  • Two-three years of related experience and/or training

Licensure/Regulation/Certification: N/A

  • Selected Candidate Will be Employed by BocaCare, Inc Physician Network, an affiliate of Boca Raton Regional Hospital
  • Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.
  • The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
