Title: Senior Project Manager

Duration: 12+ months contract

Location: Woodcliff Lake, NJ

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Project Manager who has experience working with Application Development projects in an Agile environment with budgets above $5M. Any Risk / Compliance related subject matter experience would be considered a strong plus. This Project Manager will be tasked with handling a mix of business and IT Projects. PMP Certification will be a strong plus.

Program and Project Background:

This portfolio group governs the development and enhancement of the risk and compliance applications. Examples: complying with legal and professional obligations related to independence, identifying potential conflicts of interest, and managing partner rotations. They have developed a set of custom built applications to address the individual needs of the organization in the risk and compliance space. Those applications need to be enhanced and updated on an ongoing basis to address new and changing regulatory requirements and to assure continued compliance with technology standards.

Mandatory requirements for this role are:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in project management disciplines, with experience planning and executing projects and programs. Strong experience managing both IT and Business projects preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of project management methodologies, especially Agile
  • Experience in operating in complex matrix organizations
  • Track Record of successfully managing project budgets over $5M
  • Strong project management skills with experience in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing projects from definition through implementation, involving internal personnel and third-party contractors
  • Requires excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment skills, strong supervisory skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with project team members, project sponsors, functional leads, and senior management in a matrixed environment
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate
  • Drive and demonstrated success working independently in a virtual environment

  • Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for project execution
  • Ensure project is delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Manage Project Financials and resource forecasting
  • Develop project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop detailed project plan to track progress
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs and follow a formal CR process
  • Report and escalate issues / risks to management as needed
  • Manage the day to day relationship with the client and stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
