What will I be doing?

The Software Quality Assurance Team supports key functions across the business by utilizing innovative testing strategies and technical solutions to provide early and frequent feedback on the quality of the products throughout the software development process. Through effective collaboration with subject matter authorities in the areas of data governance, data quality, data engineering, business analytics, data science, reporting and dashboards, the QA team provides insights, guidance, standard methodologies, and key metrics that help drive improvements to processes and efficiencies in order to ensure high-quality deliverables to business partners and end-users.

Collaborating with the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance, the Manager will be responsible for managing the QA and testing functions, developing processes and techniques to ensure the right controls and monitoring are in place. You will ensure resolution of issues and implementing proactive measures to improve design, build and production support processes. Additionally, you will drive key initiative across development, testing, and deployment to reduce the “time-to-market” without compromising quality and instilling full trust in the end-to-end quality assurance process with both technical and business partners.

More specifically, you will:

  • Execute quality assurance initiatives, coordinating with product owners, business analysts, designers and developers to identify solutions and enhance existing processes.
  • Define processes for test design and execution activities – monitoring, measuring, and reporting bugs, test results and remediation efforts.
  • Represent the QA team at Change Advisory Board meetings.
  • Provide end-to-end, high-level, test strategies and estimates for major initiatives and releases.
  • Create a seamless process of problem detection, testing and fixing applications to ensure quick recovery from challenges posed by source data issues or application defects.
  • Develop innovative solutions to automate functional testing and back-end data validation using either commercial (off-the-shelf) or open source tools.
  • Collaborate with business data stewards and Information Technology (IT) data stewards to ensure the resolution of defects and/ or data quality issues.
