Liberty Mutual Surety is looking for a Manager, Construction Services for our King of Prussia office. As the Manager, Construction Services, you will be responsible for managing the internal and external resources responsible for meeting our bonded obligations through the completion of defaulted bonded contracts, paying of all subcontractors and suppliers and pursuing job salvage. Also responsible for training and management of all construction services personnel nationally, as well as development and implementation of procedures for the in-house engineering group.

Responsibilities:
- Proactively manages loss mitigation issues and opportunities thru development and management of affirmative claims, minimizing relet premiums, minimizing liquidated damage exposure and maximizing recovery of contract balances.
- Manages the completion of defaulted contracts, which can reach several hundred million dollars, through internal engineers and assisted by numerous outside construction consulting firms, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manages the LMS Claims Construction Services Department that handles jobs totaling in the hundreds.
- Interfaces and communicates with internal and external accountants, attorneys, as well as LMS Regional Claims Managers to develop strategies for minimizing loss, meeting obligations and collecting salvage.
- Develops strategies for pursuing affirmative claims against owners of projects who have not met their obligations identified in construction contracts.
- Proactively manages internal and external expenses. Maximizes efficient use of outside consultants and internal engineering staff.
- Negotiates favorable rates and terms with our outside consultants.
- Develops billing procedures and controls to assure fair treatment and fidelity of those who are involved in meeting our obligations.
- Participates in the training and development of our engineering staff, our claims handlers and represents us at industry functions by presenting on construction topics.
- Must be willing to travel up to 35% of the time.
Qualifications:
- An Engineering degree required, minimum of 15 years of experience directing large project construction management, experience as an engineering consultant.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
