Summary

Newell Brands’ Home Fragrance Division (Yankee Candle) has an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Manager to lead the delivery of an enterprise – wide ERP consolidation initiative. You will have ownership of design, delivery and implementation of enterprise application solutions. Additionally, you will mentor, and lead the team through the entire solution development project lifecycle. You will collaborate across multiple business users and IT management to define and manage expectations, control scope, mentor/lead teammates, implement methodology and continually enhance processes. Your efforts will have a direct impact on generating revenue and ultimately, ensuring our products arrive to the end consumer.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the coordination and facilitation of all enterprise application projects submitted to Information Systems.
  • Support the development of Yankee Candle Company’s application staff and provide coordination of all software projects.
  • Offer business and technical insight during the design of the solution and collaborate with the team.
  • Create accurate project estimates, define the project’s approach, create staffing plans, and develop and maintain a precise project plan.
  • Define a clear project hierarchy, establish roles and responsibilities, identify priorities, manage schedules, and work closely with team members to ensure they are on track.
  • Establish and implement reporting, communication, issue resolution, change control and team protocol process standards.
  • Manage recurring meetings to ensure that all requirements are translated into business deliverables, and manage the progress of deliverable execution, to ensure that schedules are adhered to and all expectations are met.
  • Initiates action to resolve project problems/issues and escalates to executive management whenever further action is needed to ensure timely deliverables, customer satisfaction, and quality assurance
  • Reports regularly to Director of Development on project status and productivity
  • Provide for training and coaching of staff members to ensure that each member of the staff can complete their projects in a professional and expeditious manner.
  • Monitor all development staff’s work and provide recommendations for salary increases and actions including hiring, terminating, and promoting staff.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the computer technology and application development industry by reviewing trade publications and attending seminars, user group meetings and conferences on a regular basis


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably Management Information Systems or Computer Science) or equivalent experience; minimum of 5-8 years experience participating in the delivery of solutions in either a systems analysis, design, development or lead role
  • Demonstrated experience leading Oracle EBS projects (Implementations, migrations, enhancments, customizations etc.)
  • Must possess a solid understanding of the software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis & design, development tools & technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in project management including supervising and leading project leaders, analysts, architects and developers; must have experience and ability to manage multiple project initiatives simultaneously
  • Requires demonstrated ability to gain consensus for project related policies and good negotiation skills
  • Accomplished ability to build (using products like MS Project) and manage to project plan
  • Knowledge of current operating system(s) and hardware platform(s) is desirable
