Put your IT project management skills to work and support organizations and application systems that serve vulnerable, elderly, and disabled populations of Washington State as well as the individuals that serve them.

The Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA) helps to transform lives by promoting choice, independence, and safety through innovative services. You’ll provide project management support of the technical solutions developed and maintained for our program and clients.

Some of what you’ll do

  • Guide projects to successful completion and provide project planning for organization-wide applications
  • Advise management on IT project methodology (Iterative, Waterfall, etc.), viability, and status
  • Develop and implement project plans
  • Manage analysis efforts for technical projects for business and technical teams
  • Perform analytical tasks to determine organization-wide needs
  • Manage and coordinate contract/vendor services
  • Provide agency business and technical staff with guidance and training on best practice approaches to project planning, execution, and monitoring

What we’re looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in either computer science, business administration or management of information systems, or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the above or related fields. (A master’s degree will substitute for 2 years of this experience.)
  • At least 4 years of senior experience gained in project management of systems implementation or software development
  • Senior experience participating in large IT projects involving integration partners, delivering quality products within aggressive timeframes
  • Ability to generate project artifacts such as a Requirements Traceability Matrix and Status Dashboards


Desired:

  • Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or proficiency in the project management capacity according to the industry standard
  • Knowledge of industry and government guidance on IT systems security
  • Understanding of modern software development methodologies (Iterative, Agile, Extreme, Kanban) and other tools
