Reporting to the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) plans, directs and monitors the day-to-day operation and activities of the organization, consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The COO assists in the development of and is responsible for fulfilling the goals, objectives, operational plans and policies established through the planning process led by the CEO and executive leadership team. Maintaining a shared vision and understanding with the CEO, the COO ensures successful execution of the culture of Service Excellence, Quality and Safety initiatives and continuous improvement model.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or related field

Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of progressively more responsible experience in administrative capacities in a large health care organization

Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy: Communication; Ownership; Understanding; Motivation; Sensitivity; Excellence; Teamwork; Respect

Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services

Must possess the following personal qualities: Be self-directed; Be flexible and committed to the team concept; Demonstrate teamwork, initiative and willingness to learn; Be open to new learning experiences; Accepts and respects diversity without judgment; Demonstrates customer service values
