Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Richardson, TX.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Richardson, TX. Serve as a liaison between the project team and senior management, shareholders, and sponsors in order to facilitate information technology solutions as well as facilitate Scrum events and other ad-hoc meetings for teams. Coach software developers, software designers and product owners team members in Agile practices, values and principles. Understand and drive technical and non-technical discussions as well as identify problems and provide customized solutions as suitable. Leverage modern software development practices, including DevOps, Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming (XP), Acceptance test-driven development (ATDD), Behavior-driven development (BDD), Feature driven development (FDD) and other technical practices to coach, mentor and train. Facilitate multi-team events like Big Room Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Program Increment (PI) planning, and story mapping. Leverage understanding of industry best practices on scaled Agile practices and use Agile frameworks and world-leading scaling models, such as SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), LeSS (Large Scale Scrum), as well as story mapping skills to mentor and facilitate discussion with business owners and technical team members. Assist Product Owners and teams in story writing, product backlog maintenance, refinement and prioritization and planning. Create effective user stories/requirements, requirement estimation methods, prioritization techniques, and various planning techniques in order to recommended an approach for story writing, backlog maintenance, prioritization, and planning. Facilitate creation and prioritization of program-level feature and architectural backlogs. Serve as teams’ or programs’ information radiator, representing the team or program to senior management, stakeholders and sponsors. Conduct project and program status meetings to review progress and issues, identify risk, and other project metrics with senior management, team members, and stakeholders. Effectively use metrics and data visualization to report progress and support data-driven decision making at the team or program level. Create useful, reliable and practical forecasts for delivery sprints and releases. Help teams and individuals clarify goals, and actions to achieve them Serve as a mentor to technical and non-technical members to clarify performance goals and sprint goals and identify specific action plan to achieve defined goals. Shield the team from outside distractions, context switching and interference and track and remove impediments. Identify and enforce work in progress (WIP) limits for in progress development and testing activities, shield software developers, testers, and designers from interferences that could impact their ability to meet software/product delivery commitments; and help to remove technical and no technical blockers for the team by effective collaboration, risk/issue management, and dependency management, and escalations. Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching to higher levels of maturity. Apply Agile manifesto values and build a safe environment with an emphasis on collaboration and problem solving. Participate in Agile Communities of Practice across the Firm.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related computational and analytical field, such as Computer Information Systems. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience: leading multiple software delivery teams, including distributed teams (across geographies and time zones, using a variety of latest technologies and contexts); facilitating conflict resolution and building consensus within a geographically distributed development team; managing project risks, issues and contingency plans; and resolving software delivery issues, including experience with software delivery lifecycle, including multi-tier application architecture, micro services, and data stores. Must have three (3) years of experience: developing, coaching, training and mentoring developers, testers, senior management, product owners in the use of Scrum, modern software development practices, DevOps, Scrum, and Kanban; and Agile estimation, including normalizing story point estimation across multiple teams. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure), Application/Server Monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana), Messaging Framework (Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ), Distributed Databases (MongoDB or Cassandra), Programming Languages (Java or Python), and Code Repositories and version control (GitHub or Svn).
