Job summary

The Red Hat Procurement team is looking for a Senior Director to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will help build and grow the team to meet the needs of our growing company. You will join a dynamic and collaborative Finance group reporting to the Vice President of Global Transformation and Operations. As a Senior Director, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and tracking sourcing strategies across the enterprise. You will set strategic and tactical direction for strategic sourcing and procurement, aligned with Red Hat’s mission, global sourcing, and stakeholder needs.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals and managers in support of team strategy, goals, and professional development
  • Lead the creation and implementation of company-wide procurement policies and procedures in conjunction with finance, legal, key business stakeholders, and IBM procurement
  • Serve as business partner working with functional representatives across the organization to meet sourcing requirements
  • Lead cross functional vendor management initiatives to drive improvement in overall supplier performance and pricing
  • Develop and implement appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure both key supplier and functional effectiveness
  • Review major contracts for key areas of spend and serve as an expert resource for planning or leading complex negotiations
  • In collaboration with the Finance team, ensure that the development and implementation of a seamless and efficient purchase-to-pay process, leveraging best in class technology
  • Deliver on all agreed upon cost savings and avoidance goals and implement service-level agreements (SLAs)
  • Measure and track internal performance within each spend category by tracking forecasted versus actual savings and budget impact for portfolio of categories
  • Leverage solid influencing skills to define sourcing role and align project objectives and targets with stakeholders

Required skills

  • Solid executive presence and ability to communicate with senior leadership both internally and externally
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices; preferably in a high tech company
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, strategic capabilities, and ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated capability to understanding all value drivers and flexibility to find creative ways to deliver against all stakeholder requirements
  • Significant experience with current sourcing and procurement systems and related processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment
  • Demonstrated record of success as an organizational leader with a focus on performance and development of associates
