The Medicare Advantage area strives to develop a âbest in classâ service model and experience for our senior population. Our team works closely with other associates and business areas that support Medicare Advantage members in an effort to meet and exceed customer expectations and continue driving toward strategic improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for large-scale project management, which may include external vendor systems. The incumbent must use sound analytical skills to independently research and analyze processes. Research must be thorough and complete so that all aspects of the process are accounted for. Based on findings, use critical thinking and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. The Senior Business Analyst must recognize opportunities to improve accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, and productivity. The above is accomplished with minimal supervision. Projects will have clearly stated deliverables and due dates. The incumbent will develop recommendations and present to management either in written form or through oral presentations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to evaluating and recommending changes or enhancements to a business process or system; identifying and resolving business rules, data integrity or software issues; and designing data retrieval for reporting and analysis, response to legal requests; timely and accurate reporting of data to upper management; and implementing process improvements. Accomplishes all assigned job functions in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness while maintaining confidentiality.
This incumbent will report to the Medicare Advantage Department Manager.
Summary of Qualifications
- Bachelorâs Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business/data analysis and managing small to medium scale projects, including gathering requirements, developing project plans, fit/gap analysis and preparation of functional design documents
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Advanced experience collecting and analyzing complex data and providing recommendations using independent judgement
- Advanced level of experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) or other analytical tools
- Experience using organizational and time management skills managing project priorities effectively, working independently, and making decisions without management input based on established policy or precedent while keeping management informed
- Experience working with complex situations, tasks or problems, analyzing them using a systematic approach and identifying patterns and connections
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience interacting and building professional relationships with all levels of staff and external resources
- Experience developing user acceptance testing scripts and leading system implementations
- Experience leading project teams and mentoring others
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Six Sigma certification preferred
- Medicare Advantage experience preferred
- Business Analyst/Project Management experience preferred
