Role Summary
The Fixed Income Cash Middle Office supports pre and post execution activities for the Firm’s Global Fixed Income businesses within the Corporate and Investment Bank. These businesses include primary and secondary market activity in Fixed Income securities across Rates, Credit, Public Finance and Securitized Products as well as Financing (Repo). Split across primary, secondary and tertiary locations (with senior management based in NYC) the function covers the full end to end of the transaction lifecycle ensuring robust transaction management from execution and risk management through to settlement, books and records, regulatory reporting and MIS.
The FICMO Project Team’s primary objective is to ensure controlled, timely and transparent delivery of change across multiple business lines, functions, systems and internal and external stakeholder groups including vendors, financial market utilities and regulators. Projects include technology and productivity initiatives, control initiatives, regulatory changes and new business support. Project Managers in the team cover both business-specific and cross-business portfolios of projects and the role provides considerable exposure to senior management, functional partners and the businesses that the broader team supports.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager Role reports directly into the North America Program Manager and is expected to perform the following core activities:
  • Business analysis, document requirements, establish plans and deliver projects within a standardized framework for both business specific change and cross-business, cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives

  • Establish working groups and specific roles and responsibilities to support efficient coordinated delivery, transparency and communications to all project stakeholders
  • Report on project specific progress, risks and issues to the Business, Technology and Operations stakeholders via regular meetings and communications; work to resolve all issues and manage implementation risk

  • Provide progress updates to senior business and program management by maintaining project scorecards and other project documentation and MIS, escalating any issues as required and tracking all risks and dependencies to control project delivery

  • Support the development, organization and execution capability of the broader project team

  • Excellent business judgment to identify and address issues early, perform root cause analysis and develop long term solutions

  • Strong business analysis skills to enable efficient, accurate and objective decision making

  • Excellent personnel and organizational management skills, including issue and conflict resolution

  • Ability to partner closely with related functions to ensure a coordinated and effective program

  • Outstanding listening and negotiation skills as well as being a strong written and verbal communicator at the senior management level

  • Candidate needs to be comfortable working and partnering with people at all levels and across all functional areas

  • Professional, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with a proven track record of execution against deliverables

  • Relevant experience/knowledge of financial products and processing highly desirable
    Beneficial but not required skills include familiarity with Fixed Income products and sales support functions. Project Management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 and equivalents are desirable but not necessary.
