The Holder Group (THG), commercial general contractor and construction manager, seek a professional, responsible and detailed person to perform the duties of Project Manager for northern New Jersey Commrecial Class A Interiors projects. This position reports directly to the firm’s Director of Operations.

This position requires a team member who is committed to learning, executing and maintaining the established processes in place. A successful contributor focused on doing whatever is necessary to help the team succeed with keen critical thinking and strong communication skills..

  • Strong abilities in organization, planning, supervision, and financial management.
  • The ability to provide weekly updates utilizing MS Project schedules for each project to owner, through collaboration with field personnel, subcontractors and executive management.
  • Address and resolve potential issues before they can impact the schedule

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Lead weekly client progress meetings with detailed agendas and meeting minutes
  • Preparation and management of construction schedules, project time lines and milestones.
  • Discourage and deter all unauthorized work of field personnel and subcontractors
  • Communications with Project Superintendents regarding all aspects of construction management including, change order status, RFI management, schedule feedback, revisions and distribution and quality control inspections
  • Review submittals and requisitions
  • Manage client and architectural relationships
  • Manage safety expectations in the field
  • Identify, prepare, track and discuss with the architects and owners all Change Order Requests in a timely manner.
  • Complete project close-out documentation and ensure that the punch list is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Attend weekly internal review meeting with the Director of Operations delivering progress update.
  • Train and mentor Project Admins and APMs on technical aspects of construction.

The successful candidate should possess:

· Minimum undergraduate degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or comparable field experience.

· A minimum of 3+ yrs. of successful experience as a project manager working within Class A Commercial interior fit-ups. Ground up work a plus!

· Knowledge of the construction industry and familiarity with construction means, methods and building codes.

· Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil and MEPS plans and specifications.

· Capable of multi-tasking, working with minimal supervision, with a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills to ensure all established deadlines are achieved.

· Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.

· Experince with Sage 100 a plus

· Experience in scheduling, field supervision, site safety practices, quality control and production of all phases of construction.

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Candidates must be located within 1 hour of the office in Little Falls, NJ

· OSHA certified a plus
