Production Manager

The primary role of the Print Shop Production Manager is to oversee all of the departments in the Print Shop (Main Floor, Add-on’s, Heat Seal, Screen Maintenance, and Heat Transfer), to increase production in the same departments while finding issues with production and capacity, also to ensure and improve quality of printing.


Responsibilities

  • Maintaining each departments efficiency with emphasis on order information, order completion, order accuracy and quality of prints.
  • Work with sales staff to insure order accuracy, real time order status and to build a more positive working relationship.
  • Oversee print shop operations and assist each department with any needs that may be beyond their control.
  • Provide lead staff with the abilities and equipment to train and improve their departments employees.
  • Liaison between other Challenger departments and the print shop (scheduling, warehouse, etc) so we have a smoother flow of business.
  • Research and improve ways to increase production and quality of printing.
  • Research new shop equipment and supplies while maintaining existing equipment throughout the Print Shop.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside suppliers.
  • Promote a positive environment for all printing staff.
  • Limiting misprints and holding employees responsible for their own misprints.
  • Maintaining department safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Communicating with the Art dept. to optimize art for our production capabilities.


Expected Outcomes

  • Increased shop production and quality while gaining a decrease in waste and misprints.
  • Maintaining a higher standard of all printing.
  • Great working relationship with employees and all of the Challenger staff.
  • Keep transparency between P/s depts. Concerning successes and shortcomings.
  • All department leads have a very good understanding of the state of the Print Shop and Challenger.
  • Gaining better products at a competitive price and maintenance on equipment through building relationships with suppliers.


Measuring Performance

  • Have weekly meeting to exchange information among the departments and address issues.
  • Meet with individual groups (# printers, catcher, heat seal, etc) to go over product knowledge and statistics
  • Production increases in all departments as a whole and quality of printed garments being shipped.
